Description
Embark on a fun journey along the Marmot Trail at Betelberg in Lenk. This three-kilometre path is perfect for nature lovers of all ages. It starts at the Leiterli mountain station after your gondola ride from Lenk and ends at the Stoss mid-station. Along the way, you’ll discover the world of marmots, their alpine home, and their playful habits.
A special highlight is the walk-through interactive marmot burrow, where you get right inside their underground world. Throughout the trail, informative panels provide insights into marmot life and their ecosystem. Varied play stations like a wobbly bridge, a zipline, and a labyrinth add extra fun, making the Marmot Trail a great family adventure.
The Marmot Trail finishes at the Stoss mid-station. From there, you return to the valley with lots of new impressions of alpine wildlife.

- Start: Leiterli mountain station (1946 m above sea level)
- End: Stoos middle station (1634 m above sea level)
Traveling with your dog
- Dogs are allowed on the Adelboden-Lenk mountain railways and ride for free. However, dogs must be kept on a leash.
Travelling with a stroller
- The road is unpaved. However, it is passable with an all-terrain stroller.
Important Information
- Wear: sturdy hiking boots
- Tickets must be exchanged at the ticket counter
- Note: Due to the construction of the "Bergrestaurant Leiterli," there will be a construction site at the Betelberg gondola mountain station in summer 2026. Drinks and food can be purchased right next door at the new "Alpenimbiss Leiterli." The alpine playground on the Leiterli will be closed during the construction phase. All hiking trails remain accessible, and the mountain railway operates normally.
